Synopsis
The immersed tube tunnel concept was developed early last century as an alternative method to driven tunnels and has progressed to the present day as a practical and economic method. The form of construction of tunnels has now been adopted for many crossings.
Energy Strategy Update
The purpose of the meeting is to inform members of the activities of the IESIS Energy Working Group and to provide a forum for them to air their own views. It is intended that this will lead to conclusions as to what further actions IESIS should take with regard to the energy situation.
