James Watt Dinner 2010

The Institution is delighted to announce the details for this year's James Watt Dinner. This year's dinner will be held in the city centre in the Hilton Hotel, William Street , Glasgow on Friday 1st October 2010. 

The James Watt Dinner is hosted by IESIS, Scotland 's only multidisciplinary engineering society. The Dinner reflects the wide membership of the Institution. It is a relaxed occasion whose programme provides the opportunity to meet old friends, make new contacts, and entertain guests and clients.  

In recent years, the James Watt Dinner has enjoyed great and increasing success, due to a formula of combining the best traditions of a formal dinner with an informal, relaxed atmosphere. Whether guests come as individuals, part of a small group of friends or family or, as part of a corporate group, the James Watt Dinner will provide a great evening for everyone.

This year our speakers are Gordon Masterton OBE, President of IESIS and Duncan Cameron, formally of American Airlines. Duncan has been a regular presenter on Radio Clyde 2, where he won a Sony Gold Award. He hosts his own regular show on Saga Radio. Duncan is an accomplished after dinner speaker and hilarious raconteur and has entertained audiences in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.

This year's ticket price will be £45.00, the ticket price will include a drink of sparkling wine or orange juice on arrival, a four course meal, coffee, entertaining speeches and a chance to catch up with friends and network with colleagues.

We have listened to feedback from guests at last year's Dinner and reviewed the after-dinner speeches to provide more time for you to meet old friends and colleagues
