10 February, 2009 – Past, Present and Future Designs of Artificial Limb Joints

Professor Tony Unsworth is Professor of Engineering, Director of the Centre for Biomedical Engineering and Director of Research for the Faculty of Science at Durham University.  Tony will discuss the challenges facing engineers when designing artificial joints.

13 January, 2009 – The Helix Project

In this joint lecture with IMarEST, Mr Crawford MacCalman will present a lecture on the Helix Project.

09 December, 2008 – QE2 - a complete history

In this joint lecture with Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), Stephen Payne, President of the RINA  Vice President  of Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding and  Chief Designer of the Queen Mary 2 (QM2), will present an absorbing lecture outlining the history of the QE2.

Stephen will discuss the vessel's design and build and the ship's commercial history - highlighting some of her remarkable achievements during her long life at sea

Professor Clive Neal-Sturgess will deliver his lecture on current aspects of testing vehicle safety.
