This year the Glasgow Science Festival Lecture will be co-sponsored by the Royal Philosophical Society and the Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders in Scotland.
The lecture 'What nature did and did not give aerospace' will be delivered by Roderick A McD Galbraith, FRSE.
The lecture will be held in the Boyd Orr Building on 9th June 2011 at 7pm

Michel Virloguex will deliver a special lecture to inspire young people about a career in Professional Engineering, this lecture will be entitled

Keith Clarke, CEO of Atkins will deliver his paper:- "Low Carbon Economy - Can engineers start to define questions rather than answer them?"
This will be a very interesting account of Lloyd's Register from it's early history to it's present position as a successful international business.
The lecture will be held in the Trust Hall, Clydeport Building, 5.30 for 6.15pm
The speaker will be Mr Ian White, Ian is currently the Lloyd's Register Project Manager for the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft carriers.
Bill McDairmid will deliver his paper: - "Ship Stabilisers and other FIFE activities"
